Below you will find a step-by-step checklist to guide you through the admissions process.

The Welcome & Admissions Center which is located in the ATB building, room 100, has the program and enrollment information you will need to start the application process.

Decide on a program of study, when you want to begin school, which campus you will attend, and if you will attend full-time or part-time.

Full Time = 12 or more credit hours

Students with disabilities who desire academic accomodations must contact the Disability Services Coordinator at (270) 769-2371 extension 68455 to arrange for appropriate accommodations.

Submit your OFFICIAL high school transcript or GED scores:

To request GED scores, please contact the center where you took the GED test.

If you are 25 or older, high school transcripts/GED scores are not be required, (Active duty military and dependents are exempt from this requirement unless applying to a selective admission program.)

Please Note: High school transcripts and/or GED scores ARE REQUIRED for some selective admission programs.

It you have attended college before, submit OFFICIAL college transcripts from any/all colleges you have attended.

Submit official ACT or COMPASS test results:

If you have not taken the American College Test (ACT), or the COMPASS exam, you will need to contact:
the Assessment Center at (270) 769-2371 extention 68809
or the Fort Knox Center at (270) 769-2371 Extension 68858.

Students should have an application on file BEFORE taking the COMPASS exam.

To have your ACT scores sent to us, please enter "1513" where indicated on the test or go to www.act.org for more information.

Determine how you will pay your tuition:
-
Federal financial aid - By filling out the FAFSA, students apply for federal/state grants, loans, and workstudy.
Please submit the FASFA at www.fafsa.ed.gov or mail it using the envelope provided in the FASFA. Apply as soon as possible to allow enough time for processing. To have results sent to ECTC, please enter "001991" where indicated on the FAFSA.
Students will be required to access/monitor financial aid online using a student ID number genterate by ECTC. Students will use this ID number to activate a student email account, which in turn, allows the student to access the www.kctcs.edu/student/financialaidscholarships/FAIR.htm web page with the username and password. Students may contact The Welcome Center to obtain the student ID number. Verification of identity will be required.

Payment Plan - KCTCS offers an interest free tuition payment plan; the FACTS Plan. Please contact the Business Office at (270) 769-2371 ext. 68806 for information and application.

KEES Scholarship - Go to www.kheaa.com/keeshome.html to access your account and information on how KEES money is distributed. You will need to print out a copy of your account to give to the Business Office when paying your tuition. Please note - KEES money generally processes after tuition is due.

Scholarships - Please contact the Office of Admissions for information on scholarships. Scholarship applications are due March 1st. Students should have an admission application on file for consideration. For booklet and application go to: www.elizabethtown.kctcs.edu/olforms/docs/schinfo.pdf

Veteran´s Benefits/G.I. Bill - If you are a veteran, please contact Mr. Ed Harris in Veteran´s Affairs (270) 769-2371 ext. 68815 to make arrangements for veterans educational benefits.

Other - The College accepts most forms of payment such as cash, check, or credit card. For information on tuition payment or billing, please contact the Business Office. (270) 769-2371 ext. 68806.

Once your admission packet is complete, the college will contact you concerning the following steps:

Invitations will be sent to each applicant at the appropriate time before the beginning of the new semester.

Attend new student registration and make a tuition payment:

Information regarding registration will be sent to you at the appropriate time before the beginning of the new semester. Students should make tuition payment at the time of registration.

Stay connected with an academic advisor or counselor:

You will be assigned an academic advisor. He/she will help you select courses for subsequent semesters. Students who regularly see an academic advisor are more successful.
