Printing PowerPoint Documents
Printing PowerPoint Documents from PowerPoint
PowerPoint presentations can be a powerful tool for instructors and students
in the classroom. Unfortunately, printing out presentations with single slides
on each page AND/OR printing them out using the Color or Grayscale
selections, rather than Pure Black
and White uses up printer cartridges very fast. If you need to print a
PowerPoint presentation, please observe the following procedures:
- Click on File/Print or right-click and click on Print or
click on Print Icon in Internet Explorer
- When the Print Dialog screen appears, click on the drop-down arrow underneath
Print What in the lower left
of the Print Dialog Screen.
- Click on Handouts. The Print What field should change from
SLIDES to HANDOUTS
- Click on the drop-down arrow next to the Color/Grayscale selection box
underneath the Print What selection box. Select Pure Black and White
- You will see the word Handouts appear to the right of the Print
What field, along with the words Number of Slides underneath. The
number 6 appears in the selection box. Leave it at 6 or click on
the drop down arrow and choose 3 if you want lines for note-taking to
appear next to each slide
- Click on the OK button of the Print Dialog Screen
Printing PowerPoint slides from a PDF file
- Look on the Print Dialog window for the Page Scaling
field.
- Change Page Scaling from Shrink to Printable Area to
Multiple Copies Per Sheet
- Change Pages per Sheet from 2 to 4
- Click on the Properties button in the upper right corner of the
Print Dialog window
- Look for the Duplex option. Change Duplex from Off
to Open to Left
- Click on OK to close the Properties window and save
options
- Click on OK in the Print Dialog window
