ECTC to Host DebateWatch 2008
DebateWatch is a voter education program of the Commission on Presidential Debates. Organizations, libraries, colleges, and universities across the country are hosting DebateWatch this election season. The program brings citizens together to watch the televised debates, talk about what they learned, and discuss the candidates. ECTC will host DebateWatch 2008. The goal is to help inform voters and encourage civic engagement in the electoral process. Each debate will begin at 9:00 p.m. EST. Guests are asked to arrive at 8:30 in order to get to know each other. The location for the DebateWatch is Room 303 Occupational/Technical Building. The public is invited to these free events. The debate schedule is as follows:
First presidential debate: Friday, September 26 University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS Vice presidential debate: Thursday, October 2 Washington University in St. Louis, MO
Second presidential debate: Tuesday, October 7 Belmont University, Nashville, TN Third presidential debate: Wednesday, October 15 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY
