[View ALL News Press Releases] According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 18 of the 20 fastest growing occupations with the next decade will require career and technical education. Now is the time to explore a variety of those careers at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. February is National Career and Technical Education Month, and ECTC is celebrating it with an open house to showcase programs in technical career fields. ECTC will open its doors to anyone interested in technical education and training on Thursday, February 21, from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Occupational/Technical Building and the Central Regional Postsecondary Education Center.

ECTC faculty, staff and students will be available to help you explore a number of career and technical programs. There will be hands-on demonstrations and tours of the various labs and classrooms, and you will have the opportunity to talk personally with the faculty who teach the programs you'd like to explore. Be sure to visit ECTC if you are interested in any of the following fields of study: Air Conditioning, Automotive/Diesel, Carpentry, Computer Aided Drafting and Design, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Dental Hygiene, Electrical, Electronics, Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Information Technology, Machine Tool, Nursing (LPN and RN), Plumbing, Quality Management, Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, and Welding.

There also will be people available to answer questions about applying for college, enrolling in classes, paying your tuition and financial aid, help for students with disabilities, campus life and student organizations and more. Visitors will also have the opportunity to talk to students who are currently enrolled in the programs to learn more about their experiences.
