ECTC Diesel Program Receives Award of Excellence

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College's Diesel Department recently received the State Award of Excellence from the Automotive Industry Planning Council. The AIPC is a national advisory group of industry leaders, vocational/technical educators, and educational policy makers whose mission is to promote communication, cooperation, and excellence in automotive service training programs. Each year, the AIPC recognizes outstanding automotive related educational programs throughout the nation. Corporate sponsors such as ATech, ASE, Chrysler, Honda, ASA, and NACAT donated over $2 million to AIPC winners.

ECTC instructor John Chism traveled to Las Vegas to receive the award on behalf of the school. The award was presented at the Association for Career and Technical Education's annual conference. Along with the award, the school was presented a $500 certificate from Snap-On tools and a paid membership to the Automotive Service Association.

The ECTC auto/diesel program will be enrolling new students this January. A full automotive program is offered day and night while the diesel program is offered full time during the day and partially at night. For more information regarding any of these programs contact John Chism (706-8823), Les Pike (706- 8657), Jerry Clemons (706-8652), or Doug Poteet (706-8656).
