The Army 101 course has been designed to help familiarize people with the United States Army and the units that will make up the United States Army Human Resource Center of Excellence (US Army Accessions Command, US Army Human Resources Command, US Army Cadet Command and US Army Recruiting Command). Army 101 will develop familiarity with and expose people to the unique terminology, culture, structure, organizational roles, and systems of the United States Army and the organizations that will make up the Army’s Human Resource Center of Excellence.
This one-credit hour on-line course is available to anyone who applies. Cost is based on current ECTC tuition rates for one credit hour. You can apply at anytime, however the course starts every Monday, so if you apply on a Tuesday, you will not be able to access course content until the following Monday. Once you start the course you will have 5 weeks to complete it. Incomplete coursework will result in a failing grade for the course. Students must successfully complete the course with a minimum passing score of 70% and students who are unsuccessful on the first attempt will be given one additional opportunity to retake the course.
While completion of this course provides an orientation and familiarization with the United States Army, Accessions Command, Human Resources Command, and US Army Cadet Command and may be considered in hiring decisions, it does not guarantee that students will be:

deemed qualified to apply for a position

referred for consideration to a hiring manager

deemed among the best qualified for nomination for a position

chosen for a position
Completion of any course or curriculum does not guarantee or imply selection for a federal civilian position with the US government. Hiring managers (selecting officials) will be encouraged but not required to consider completion of any course or curriculum a positive reflection of the candidate's initiative as a potential employee.
