COMPASS is a comprehensive computerized placement and diagnostic assessment instrument. Calculators are allowed and testing time varies for each student from one to three hours.

Students can find practice COMPASS exams at:

The ACT can be taken in place of the COMPASS test to gain entrance into ECTC. To be exempt from COMPASS, students must score a minimum of 18 in the disciplines of Math, Reading, and English on the ACT exam.

The Assessment Center is located in the Central Regional Postsecondary Education Center, (CRPEC building) room 402. Office hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday. To make an appointment, please call (270) 769-2371, extension 68809.
